Common questions

Before you write, a few answers.

How quickly can you get to a site?

Often within one to two weeks for an initial visit. Some surveys are season-dependent, so the earlier we talk, the more options you have. Tell us your deadline and we will be straight with you about what is feasible.

What does a typical project cost?

It depends on acreage, complexity, and the regulatory program involved. Most work is quoted as a fixed fee or a not-to-exceed amount after a short scoping conversation, so there are no surprises.

Do you work with my engineer, attorney, or contractor?

Yes, routinely. Ecological work slots into a larger team, and we are used to coordinating with civil engineers, planners, land-use attorneys, landscape contractors, and agency staff at CDFW, the Regional Water Boards, USACE, and local jurisdictions.

Can you help with a project that is already underway or in trouble?

Yes. Whether an agency has raised questions, a prior report needs updating, or a restoration site is not performing, we can assess the situation and lay out a path forward.

What should I include in my first email?

The property location or address, roughly what you are trying to do, any deadlines, and anything you already have such as surveys, plans, or agency correspondence. Even a rough description is enough to start.
