About

An independent practice with a statewide bench.

Bond Ecological was founded on a simple idea: clients get better outcomes when one accountable ecologist leads the work and brings in exactly the specialists each site requires.

Founder & principal ecologist

Scott Bond

Scott founded Bond Ecological to bring senior-level field judgment to California projects of every size, without the overhead and hand-offs of a large firm.

[TODO: 2–3 sentences on Scott's background: years in the field, prior roles or firms, the California ecosystems and regulatory programs he knows best, and anything that signals credibility such as degrees, certifications, or notable projects.]

He works directly with landowners, design teams, agencies, and conservation organizations, and is as comfortable in a pre-application meeting as he is in a vernal pool in March.

Credentials & affiliations

  • [TODO degree, institution]
  • [TODO certifications or permits, e.g. USFWS 10(a)(1)(A) recovery permit, CDFW Scientific Collecting Permit, Professional Wetland Scientist]
  • [TODO professional memberships, e.g. CNPS, The Wildlife Society Western Section, AEP]
Our network

One accountable lead. The right specialist for every question.

Rather than keep a bench of generalists on payroll, Bond Ecological contracts with subject-matter experts across California and assembles the team each project actually needs.

Scott leads and stays

One point of contact from scoping through close-out. Scott sets the approach, reviews every deliverable, and answers to you and the agencies.

Vetted specialists on call

Botanists, wildlife biologists, herpetologists, wetland scientists, arborists, GIS analysts, and CEQA practitioners with the permits and protocol experience your site requires.

Scaled to the project

A single-visit habitat assessment and a multi-year mitigation program get teams sized to fit. You pay for expertise, not overhead.

How we work

Principles that shape every project.

  1. 01

    Field evidence first

Maps and databases suggest; the ground decides. We put time into fieldwork in the right season because that is where defensible answers come from.

  2. 02

    Say it plainly

Reports written so a landowner, an engineer, and a permit reviewer can read the same document and reach the same understanding.

  3. 03

    Independent and honest

Our findings are the same whoever is paying. That independence is what makes the work credible with agencies, and useful to you.

  4. 04

    Design for maintenance

Restoration plans account for who will water, weed, and monitor in year three, not just what looks good on the drawing in year zero.
